“Yinney” Chapter 27

6000317729_e6e3d2bb13_b Bubba was stunned. “He fulfilled it,” he kept repeating over and over. No one had answered this before. At least not in a way that made any sense. Most had told him it was a progression God was taking man through, like a learning curve. When man failed to succeed in the first covenant, then God provided a better one. But this sloth was saying it was God’s plan all along! It was God’s plan for man to fail and God to fulfill? God said man would fail and then he fulfills? God did not replace the Old Covenant? It was perfect as it was? It was godly, of God, not a mistake?

Yinney added more at just the right time, “Not only did man fail over and over again, but he needed to fail, so he would finally realize he could never save himself. And even today people still believe they can be good enough and earn heaven. It is a salvation by works, not by love and grace. Even with all the evidence of the Old Testament records, and the history of human nature, man still thinks if his good out weighs his bad, he goes to heaven, but that is not the real problem. The real problem is, how can a person ever get rid of a single sin, except to be forgiven, by God? If you only sinned once in your whole life, how could that sin ever be gone?”

Yinney continued, “The question is not about how to be good enough, because we already know the answer is that we cannot! But the real question is, how do we have our sins forgiven and cast away into forgetfulness? How do we get free from even a single sin? Will prayer do it? Will a prayer wheel do it? Only God can decide if we are forgiven, and he decides the ground rules for that forgiveness. And that is what God made available to man, by faith in Christ, when he fulfilled the Old Covenant for us, and ushered in the New Covenant of faith and grace.”

Bubba was silent for a while before finally speaking again. “Your words are very profound,” he said. “I have always been interested in the prophetic. Can you give me an example of how you say, it was prophesied from the beginning that God would fulfill?”

“Oh yes!” Yinney almost shouted in his excitement. “I’ll give you two at the very beginning. So of course these will be Old Testament scriptures. As you know, the Hebrews say it all started with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, when they disobeyed God and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Now they were no longer in a state of innocence, but had to be accountable for their sins. But God immediately begins to prophesy his future salvation when he is passing judgement, and they are about to be exiled from the garden.”

“When speaking to the snake, in Genesis 3:15, God tells the future when he says: ‘And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her off spring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.’ God speaks of a child to come, ‘He’; and ‘He’ will strike your head. Later prophecies even state ‘He’ will be a descendant of King David! And will be born in Bethlehem. It’s very specific.”

“I am aware that Jesus was known as the son of David,” Bubba acknowledged.

Another excellent historical event according to the Hebrews, is when God comes to their forefather, Abraham, and he tells Abraham they will enter into a Covenant, and he is to make the preparations. This is all recorded in Genesis 15. It starts in verse 9.

So Abraham makes all the preparations. Several animals was to be sacrificed and laid open for the ritual, a blood covenant. The strongest of covenants. But in verse 11, vultures begin trying to attack the carcasses and Abraham is fighting them off as he waits on God to appear! But in verse 12 we read the sun was going down and Abraham fell into a deep sleep! And a terrifying darkness came down over him! Had the Covenant depended on Abraham’s strength and ability to do good, it would have totally failed! Abraham believed, but he was weak in his flesh. So when God shows up he begins prophesying the future of the nation that will be born of him, Israel. And Abraham woke up in time to see a smoking firepot, and a flaming torch pass between the halves of the carcasses. Jesus stood in that place for mankind, not Abraham. That’s verse 17.”

“Abraham would continue to have both failures and successes. The nation of Israel, and the descendants of Abraham, would continue to have both failures and successes. But in the appointed time, the prophesied Messiah himself was born, and he did not fail. He fulfilled the Old Covenant we continually fail, and he ushered in forgiveness of sin, and grace through his blood. Not the blood of animals. They could never pay for sin, but the blood of God’s own Son, Jesus Christ.”

Several monkeys started clapping as Yinney spoke those final words. They had been so transfixed by the story, that when the exciting conclusion was spoken, they were moved to applaud.

“It is a wonderful story,” Bubba said, “But we are not convinced of ‘soul’. We seek a Nirvana where the cycle of fleshly cravings and earthly pain is finally broken. We are no longer born again and again to go through this same cycle, because we have finally let go of all selfness, no permanent self. We successfully attain the Eight-fold path, and this earthly cycle finally ends.”

“Yes,” Yinney said. “Christianity is the only faith where salvation, or heaven, or Nirvana, is based not on our works. It is based on our faith and God’s love. You have your own form of perfection you strive for, and if you’re finally good enough, the cycle will finally end. You receive your release. Do you think you can ever be good enough, Bubba?”

Bubba countered with, “Do you think you can ever love enough?”

“No,” Yinney plainly stated. “I no longer have a sin debt, but I have a love debt I can never repay, and that is why I am so grateful to my God for a salvation of grace. The only faith of its kind.”

Yinney and Bubba talked well into the night before finally retiring. They did so in a fellowship of mutual respect. Only time would tell if Bubba would ever decide that perhaps it was true, he would never be good enough. And perhaps this God of grace and love would speak to him too.

Billy Graham / Methuselah?

20170430_151937 This may sound weird, and please allow me to explain what I mean by this, but I have been watching for the passing of Billy Graham for years. It did not surprise me when he lived to be so old, because I “suspect” Reverend Graham may have been a “marker” with God. Has there ever been a more well-known, or stronger preacher of GRACE, than Billy Graham? The GRACE preacher. And what does this mean?

Well…remember how we get a little mystical here…I can only make possible suggestions…you must decide if it has any value, or not. But I see a world racing towards the book of Revelation, just like mankind was in the days of Noah. But God had a marker in that day. His name was Methuselah. He is the oldest living man we have record of, living to be 969! Consider how spiritually interesting those numbers are. Methuselah’s son, Lemech (father of Noah), lived to be 777! Another set of very interesting numbers. And his grandpa, Grandpa Enoch, never died! But was translated 300 years after the birth of his son, Methuselah. More interesting numbers. Then Noah goes into the ark at age 600! (Interesting.) And if you calculate all these numbers you will find that in the same year Methuselah died, the great flood came!

From the date of Methuselah’s birth a clock of judgement began ticking, but God, showing his great mercy and long-suffering for sinful man, extended Methuselah’s life to be the longest of anyone known! And even though Billy Graham lived to be very old against all the odds, and he died at 99, another interesting number, those are not the reasons I have looked at him as a possible marker, although they do add evidence. We have a lot to consider here, and I will try to be as concise and simple as possible.

In Noah’s case, it all started with his great grand daddy Enoch. This guy was the 7th generation from Adam! (Another special number.) And he was so special, it says he walked with God, and pleased God! So much so that “God took him”! He was translated! But before God took him, he had a son named Methuselah, and if you study the name deep enough, you will find meanings of “man”, “mature man”, “extension of”, and “coming judgement”, as in a dart or missile!

I was curious one day and began calculating all the very specific dates (ages) given from Enoch to Noah concerning birth of children and ages of death. It was then I discovered that the flood was unleashed the very year this very long-lived person, Methuselah died! In other words, and I assume no one knew this, but every year Methuselah lived was another year the judgement did NOT come. And in this I saw a tremendous testimony of God’s great mercy and how he does not want to pour out judgement, but eventually the wickedness reaches such a level that there is no other choice.

As you can see, Noah was of a very special linage. It wasn’t just Noah. But how does this relate to Billy Graham? It’s not his great age, or that his number is 99 and Methuselah was 969, or that he fell just short of 100, like Methuselah fell short of 1000. (I had suspected he would not see 100, for this very reason.)

It’s because of what his whole life stood for. God’s GRACE! And if there is to be a judgement, which we know Revelation predicts eventually, and if God would choose to have a “marker”, like he did “in the days of Noah”, then what more likely person than the preacher of GRACE, Billy Graham? What more likely person, in all of the earth, who spoke to so many leaders of the whole earth, was so well respected, was so consistent in his message of God’s love and grace, and whose age and numbers also seem to be “interesting”?

Now I add to this what I see as a civil war going on in the churches, which many do not even seem to be aware of, but a silent and mostly respectable war going on between the “Government Pleasing” churches and the “God Pleasing” churches. (Enoch pleased God?) Hhmmm. (And was raptured?) Hhhhhmmmmmmm.

Enough said on that, but I will add yet one more possibility. Again, only food for spiritual thought. You decide. Our President is known for the “Art of the Deal”, and his abilities in this area. And with the move he made concerning the capitol of Jerusalem, I see it as a move that had to be made if there will ever be the peace treaty there. At such a time as all this, am I saying Trump is the antichrist? NO, I AM NOT. I think before his 4-8 years are over, he could be the beginning of the white horse going forth. Is that the same person as the antichrist? I don’t know, but my theory is, if Billy Graham has been a marker from God, then God just took that marker away. His prayers are no longer rising up from the earth. Whatever the power of his prayers may have been, they are in heaven now, but they are not here.

The Ten Virgins heard a cry and woke from their slumber. They discovered their lamps had gone out! They begin to trim their wicks. I believe a trimming is going on even now. However, only five were actually able to light those wicks! So the five foolish go to the five wise asking for charity, give us of your extra oil, and the five wise say no! A division! A civil war? Hhmmm.

Billy Graham is now face to face with our Lord. I envy him. But he ran his race and completed it. Will we be able to say the same? Perhaps if we are wise, it’s not too late? Let a fire of God light in us before it is too late. The door of the ark closed, the five foolish were left behind, but in every case, the “faithful” made it. Jesus said, “Remember Lot’s wife.” Just three little words. Another special number. SELAH.

“Is God the Monster?” Part V

20171202_192016 “Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for there own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right. And this is the message I proclaim — that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.” Romans 2:14-16

In the episodes leading up to this point, we have emphasized how it is not God who is the monster, but it is us. In the last episode we even showed a great deal of evidence that God has mercy for those who have never had a proper introduction to Christ, and prayed for such people when he prayed “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” The above scripture (Rom. 2:14-16), is another scripture referencing such a people. We called these people the “Golden Rule People”, and presented evidence that they may inherit the earth, the New Earth! While the Bride of the Lamb enjoys the fullness of God’s Kingdom in New City Jerusalem. Such wonderful possibilities. All indicating God is not the monster some like to believe and teach.

Until now, all this has been the easy part. After much study I cannot deny there is a “Cup of Wrath” slowly filling for all those who are truly monsters. However, what I find so very interesting, is what fills the cup! What is the cup filled with that eventually pours out on the “filler”? Because I think it may not be what most of us envision. Who qualifies as a monster in the eyes of God? The monsters are actually filling their own cup! As we have said, our sin nature is self-destructive. But again, what does God consider to be so evil, that he allows it to fill the cup? What kind of darkness is filling the cup?

This Episode #5 also begins our attempt to understand God as revealed in the Old Testament. I do not consider this a small thing. Our journey will begin in the New Testament, but will eventually also enter the old. I might add on a personal note, I am still between jobs, waiting for the background check to clear, which seems to be moving extra slow for some odd reason; and I am still fighting a virus in my lungs that does not want to go away. All of this has contributed to my being locked away in my cave to ponder and write these things. You be the judge if you think God’s hand is in this, but I am looking forward to being healthy again. Soon! (I hope.)

In Isaiah 60:2a, the Bible reveals “darkness”, and also something called “gross darkness”. “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people:…”

I think we have proven hell is a place God has reserved for “monsters”, but what does God consider to be a monster? Certainly not the innocent. I believe Jesus revealed to us over and over again what God considers to be monstrous, and it is not only darkness, but a gross darkness so evil our minds can barely comprehend! Satan is very good at hiding his true image. No one in their “right mind” would ever want to be associated with a darkness so sick, unless they too are a monster.

God’s word even speaks of a “reprobate mind”, which these people are given over to because they do not want to recognize God is God. What is reprobate? Gross darkness! A darkness that would murder their own Creator in full knowledge of what they are doing. Such as what we might see rise up after the 1000 year reign of Christ. This army of attackers still want to murder God even after 1000 years of peace and beauty! Again we ask, what kind of monster are such people? And may we all pray we never do such a thing ourself, because that seed is in every one of us. Lord have mercy on each of us, and keep us in your grace.

This actually is our first snapshot of Jesus revealing what God considers so evil, that it is monstrous, and if taken far enough, becomes unredeemable. Did you ever notice how Jesus was very merciful to the poor and humble, but very hard to the Pharisees? How is it he could eat with sinners but always ended up in trouble in the Temples?

“Two men went to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector.” (Anybody remember how Jesus treated Zachaeus?)

This parable is contained in  Luke 18, and Jesus spoke it to the Pharisees! About how the Pharisee prayed a prayer of self pride, but the tax collector recognized his own spiritual poverty (Beatitude #1), and cried out to God for mercy. Then Jesus said this: “I tell you this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Verse 14).

Immediately after this parable, probably on a different day, but Luke presents it at this time, Jesus speaks of children: “I tell you the truth, everyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

In an earlier episode we considered the wisdom of a little child and how they have a natural fear of monsters lurking in the dark, and therefore, also have a natural love for light! But as we outgrow our childhood, we have the potential to love gross darkness and hate the light! This is such an evil, and we could name different sins like pornography, adultery, hate, murder, stealing, lying, selfishness; but when you boil it all down, the plain evidence Jesus revealed about the Father over and over again, is that God is going to put down the PROUD and ARROGANT, and lift up the poor and humble. It appears this is what is filling the cup, filled by the sinner themself, and then poured out on himself, only multiplied, because a harvest is always multiplied. We reap the harvest we have sown with our own hands. Spiritual law 101, except for grace!

Back in Revelation again, we find this same analogy. The harlot has filled her cup! But with what?

“And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:” (Rev. 17:4) (Full of what? Gross darkness!)

“And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:” (Rev. 17:6a)

“And then I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.” (Rev. 18: 4-6) (The cup which she has filled!)

From there the scriptures go on to describe what incredible pleasures and luxuries she had indulged herself in. Such pride and arrogance. So what is the measure of a monster? How much does the cup of wrath hold before it spills over? Because this is where it connects to the Old Testament, when God told Abraham he could not have the promised land yet, for at least another several hundred years! “Because the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.” (Gen. 15:16)

Had the Amorites never filled that cup, it would not have poured out on them. But notice what our God judges so severely: Pride, arrogance, exalting yourself at the expense of others, rather than sacrificing yourself for the love of others. The Golden Rule. This is the sin God so hates. This is the sin Satan is so full of, even from his very beginning steps into a world of gross darkness. This is the monster. It is a form of self love over God and anyone else. Yes people, we really can love ourself too much. Think abut it.

So if we would judge God, we would have to say he is the lover and defender of all those who really care about others, even when it cost them a personal price. And he is the judge and enemy of all those who exalt themselves at the expense of others. We see it over and over again in scripture, even in the Old Testament.

In Revelation, when the martyrs are under the altar crying out to God, how long will you wait before you avenge our blood? These people were slain because they followed a lamb! What kind of evil is this?! But the cup of the dragon was not yet quite full. The day came when it was, and their own evil cup began pouring out on them, whereas the saints drank of the good wine, from the cup filled by their Lord as they followed the Lamb in his service.

Here’s an ending thought. The Pharisees asked Jesus: “Then why did Moses say in the law that a man could give his wife a written notice of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended.” (Matt. 19:7-8)

I wonder how much of what we see in the Old Testament is actually because of OUR HARD HEARTS, not God’s? Did God really want a time span, or learning curve, of “AN EYE FOR AN EYE”? Or was it us? Jesus ate at the tables of sinners, and got in trouble at every temple. Judge not, lest ye be judged. Would you dare to judge God? We might be surprised to find out how much of our accusations against God is really because of a huge, I mean gigantic, beam in our own eye! Not to mention the condition of our heart. Do you think it might be possible, as the monsters we are, and the self-destructive nature we have, that it might actually be impossible for us to accurately judge the God of love? Are we really in any position to judge what pure love is? Or the rights of the one who created us?

I suspect if we take the Beatitudes and look at their exact opposites we will find what all the cups of wrath are being filled with. After all this, what I see is, God is the friend of the humble, and the enemy of the proud. But evil is really its own worse enemy, and everything that seems to poor out on them really comes from their own gross darkness. In heaven, there will finally be no monsters to be feared. God will be there. He will fill the place. But he is not the monster. And by his great love and grace, no longer are we.

THE END

“Changing the System” / Part II

What “did” Jesus do?

He took us from… “God above us” … to “God with us” …to “God ‘IN’ us!!!” … Wow!!!

We continue considering what Hebrews 7 means. What does it mean that our circumcision is now one of the heart? And how did God get us there?

This was the great mystery kept secret by God from the beginning of time! Do you think God can keep a secret? And Satan was never so surprised when he finally learned God’s love was so great, he would actually put man in himself, and himself in man! He never dreamed a holy God would or could do such a thing!

Before the birth of Christ, God’s Presence was contained in the Holy of Holies of the temple, of which a High Priest was allowed to go one time a year, and at great risk to his life! Making matters even worse, scriptures seem to indicate the Presence of God had already left the temple all together! And the Levite ceremonies had basically become empty practices. But before all this, when the Hebrews were crossing the wilderness with the wilderness tabernacle, they were blessed by God with a cloud above them by day, offering a covering and shade, and a pillar of fire by night, offering a covering and heat. God above them.

By the time Jesus is born things have gotten into a pretty bad spiritual condition. At this point God makes a huge move on the spiritual chessboard. Jesus is born into the earth and Matthew 1:23 records: “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (!)

God is making a move and it is major! Satan has no idea! God is moving towards checkmate! And Satan never saw it coming! The one who blinds was blindsided! The Presence of God has now moved from “God above us”, to “Immanuel”, “God with us”! And God’s not done yet!

But if God does such a thing, then even the Law must be changed?

“For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.” (Hebrews 7:12)

And so God did, through Christ Jesus, when he fulfilled all the Law for us, not leaving a jot or tittle unfulfilled, as he shifted the priesthood from the Levite to Jesus, of the eternal order of Melchisedec!

Then, on the Day of Pentecost in an upper room, the Promise of the Father invaded from the Kingdom of God into the earth, and God’s Presence became “God in us”! Know ye not that ye have become the “temples” of God? Checkmate, Satan!

This changed everything.

An awakening had come!

Now we are led of the Spirit in all things, in harmony with God’s Word.

This article is about: “GOD IN US.”

Have you considered the dead body of Jesus? Jesus didn’t simply wreck his car that day, he totaled it!!! They say the whip and beating alone had him in such a physical condition you could not even recognize him. And yet, somehow his heart kept beating and his body kept moving forward in obedience to the Father.

This already badly damaged body is then nailed to the cross and suspended vertically for all to see. After several hours of this humiliation and suffering, (oh, and don’t forget the sins of the world are put upon him too), but right at the appointed time he releases his spirit of his own obedience unto the Father. Then a Roman soldier thrusts a spear in his side from which a mixture of blood and water pours, indicating his very heart has burst!

Now his body has laid in a tomb for three days. Dead. Not breathing. No blood flowing. Jesus shows up to his Insurance Agency saying he wants his car fixed. The Insurance adjustor says, “Sorry Jesus, but that car is too far gone. It’s not possible. All the experts have looked it over. The frame is horrendously bent. The front end smashed, pushing the motor into the front seat. Then it caught fire! It’s totaled, man. I’m afraid this check towards buying another car is the best we can do.”

Now…with these thoughts in mind…ask yourself the question: WHAT KIND OF POWER HAD TO HIT THAT BODY FOR IT TO BE INSTANTLY RESTORED AND MADE NEW?

CAN YOU, BY ANY STRETCH OF YOUR IMAGINATION, VISUALIZE OR COMPREHEND POWER LIKE THAT?

WELL…GOD SAYS THAT SAME POWER IS RESIDING IN YOU AND I RIGHT NOW. THAT VERY SAME POWER! THE SAME POWER HITTING THAT BODY THAT DAY SETTING IN YOU AND I RIGHT NOW! DO WE BELIEVE IT? WHAT ARE WE DOING WITH IT? (WOWWW.) THAT KIND OF POWER IN US? WELCOME TO THE NEW COVENANT OF JESUS CHRIST!

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (!) (Romans 8:11)

Again, the Law was of Moses and the Levites. Jesus was not even of the tribe of Levi. He was of Judah. Our covenant with God was totally changed that day, disconnecting it from Aaron and connecting it to a mysterious person, (God’s secret), Melchisedec! Huge move! Huge revelation!

And now we do not have the external Laws, but we have a circumcision of the heart putting the laws in our heart, by which the power of God changing us causes us to be drawn towards those laws, and they have been revealed to us in summation as, love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself.

We have entered into a Bride and Groom relationship in which all of yours becomes all of His, (not just 10% or one Sabbath a week); and all of His becomes all of yours! Now this is a beautiful thing that truly boggles the imagination to even attempt comprehending. Welcome to your new covenant in Christ Jesus. Welcome to the Kingdom of God. Welcome to the Holy of Holies. Live in God’s Spirit and come boldly into His Presence anytime you so desire. Desire often and much!

But don’t try to keep me in the Old Covenant. It’s an insult to what God hath done, and God hath said. Let us walk in God’s Spirit, render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s. And what is God’s? All of it. We have no inheritance in the earth. God’s Presence is our inheritance, and in His Presence, we have all things.
