“Have you considered following Jesus” #2

20200613_140347As we continue considering what kind of leader Jesus is, and if he is someone worthy of following, in all wisdom, all power, and all goodness.

Have you considered this?

The Lord is my LEADER; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters;

He restores my soul;

He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death;

I will fear no evil; For you are with me;

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of my Lord Forever.

20200613_140308 What do you look for in a leader? Who do you follow? Some follow the crowds. The herd mentality. Some follow fads and whatever is “in”. Which again, is the herd.

A few leaders claim to lead us even beyond the grave. Jesus is one of those. “Was” he a madman? Or “Is” he the Son of God come to save us all?

If it were not for my following Jesus, I’m sure my desires would be much different than Psalms 23. But because I believed him above all others, I can say, I am that person. I am very content in the promises of Psalms 23, and ALL the promises of God’s Word.

Lead on, Jesus.

And as I follow you…surely goodness and mercy follows me.

Amen.

“Our Legacy”

photo-1540946485063-a40da27545f8 (1) “OUR LEGACY”

In our spirit lives eternity, as we deny passing time.

But our flesh reminds, ever so gently at first, or if need be harshly so, cause we need to know…to be aware.

Our bodies warn that day will come, when the heart beats no more and we are released into what?

Our Legacy.

Bitter and sweet together, ugly and beauty conspire…beauty of ashes… ashes of beauty… what message do we sire?

In the bitter and the sweet, the coffee of life we drink… but to what end? What will be because of me?

And if not for me, would never be, whether bad or good. For what do I weather the rain and sleet, the storms of life, the fading light? What will be because of me?

That will be my legacy.

Build a tower of peace, that tower inside your heart and soul…be intentional. Count the cost and pay the price. Look within…hear His voice.

Each day as you rise, look in the mirror and ask, this day

What will be because of me. And if not for me, would never be? In the small and in the large, what will be because of me? It’s not too late.

Your Legacy.

“Death of the First Born”

Oh Egypt, you paid such a price that day in your stubbornness against God. Why did your first-born sons have to die in order for a people to be saved from your evil? The picture you did paint for us to see, a picture now thousands of years old, and yet as relevant today as was then! The sound of your weeping filled the air that night! But nary a one of those who embraced the blood of the Lamb.

The first born son of God died so a people could go free. Believers. Is that you and me? But now he has become the FIRST-BORN of many sons and daughters in God! His death brought life! His death brought many spiritual births! His death brought life to the dead! It all happened when he overcame death and rose from that dark place bringing forth God’s Kingdom in power, never to die again! BUT IS THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB ON YOUR DOOR? If so, why not show your neighbors? Why not show your community? Why not show the world? Are you afraid? Embarrassed? Too much effort? Don’t be afraid, but be filled with faith! This is but a baby step! Let it be the first born of many! Let this be your not so silent witness.

Blessed Resurrection Day!
