“Altitude Living” / Skypeople

God’s people are called to live in the high places. But what does that mean? We are a Skykingdom of priest called to live by wing rather than flesh, and yes, we are birds of prey.

I love using metaphors that inspire to teach God’s word, and this is my favorite! The Apostle Paul wrote: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” (Col. 3:1-2 ESV)

In my previous two articles it may seem I teach a hard road of Christianity, but it is only difficult at first! You see…ask anyone who lives or trains in the mountains and you will learn that the body slowly adapts to the high altitude and thin air. Your body begins to make better use of its oxygen. That which felt so hard for a while, grows to become “normal” as your body adapts and grows stronger. Many athletes train in high places so that they perform better when in the low lands!!! Will that preach or what?

Yes… I do teach mountain living, eagle mentality, warrior vision Christianity. I teach being a Disciple. Perhaps some call that hard, but we are called to be a Skypeople and that will not happen if we’re too busy scratching in the dirt like a bunch of chickens. We have wings but neglect to develop them. We live earthbound lives. We have a chicken scratching mentality.

Would you like for God to show you things? Consider these scriptures from 1st Samuel 9, starting verse 11. > “As they went up the hill to the city, they met young women coming out to draw water and said to them, ‘Is the seer here?’ They answered, ‘He is, behold, he is just ahead of you. Hurry. He has come just now to the city, because the people have a sacrifice today on the high place.’ (VRS 14) > “So they went up to the city. As they were entering the city, they saw Samuel coming out toward them on his way up to the high place. Now the day before Saul came, the Lord had REVEALED to Samuel:…”

We are called to live in the high places, but if you’re unwilling to climb mountains and even wing your way on up to the clouds, do not expect anything more than a mediocre life in God. I say this not to be hard, but to inspire you to greater things in Christ. It’s all waiting for you in the high places! You still have hungers in your heart and you pray for them, work hard for them, and yet God does not seem to answer? He already has! He set your answers in the high places so that you would be transformed in the journey! It’s not simply about your prayer list, it’s about your total TRANSFORMATION! How cool is that!

Be inspired to live above. Accept the challenge! SELAH.

Soar more. Flap less.
